Overcoming Fear

What fears have you overcome and how?

Fear of failure. Fear of not knowing enough. And, if I’m honest, fear of success.

These are the fears I’ve experienced most as a business owner.

On failure, I’ve come to understand failure as feedback. Failure is information. Data. It’s something I can analyze and hypothesize about and make changes to keep moving forward.

Fear of not knowing enough is now understood; that I lacked advanced degrees kept me from speaking up, even to share my truth!

It seems I’ve had other priorities over advanced degrees and that’s the story of my life. I speak up now because I know that I am enough and my experiences are worth sharing. No one is perfect. We all have a perspective and point of view that others can learn from.

Overcoming the fear of success is an ongoing process.

One thing I’ve come to uderstand is that I’m not here to perfectly define my life’s mission. I’m an adventurer, and my compass isn’t certainty, it’s curiosity.

I’m here to chase the little sparks, the gut feelings, the random interests that refuse to let go.

If I can learn one thing from a spark that piques my interest, I’m in alignment and must chase that spark of curiosity to see what’s on the other side.
