Our middle child lives in Denver. A year ago, he asked me if I could send him some art that we have at home so he could put it up in his apartment.

I said, sure I do! But, I won’t send it to you. I will bring it to you in the spring.

That’s when I decided to take a long drive to Colorado, stopping to visit and stay with friends and family along the way. I would also visit places I had never been to.

So, following the dissolution of our 2019 Annual Town Meeting in April, I began my drive.

I wound my way from Massachusetts to Connecticut, then to New York and stopped for the night in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. From there I went to Ohio and traveled through West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and finally arrived in Colorado to meet up with our son.

After a lovely 5-day visit with him, I began my return trip: through Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, finally arriving back in Massachusetts five weeks after I began my trip.

My next several posts will be a little something about each leg of that trip.
